Abstract

The study on work place diversity and inclusion on organizational productivity examines the relationship that exist between workplace diversity and inclusion and organisational productivity of United Bank for African (UBA) in Ikeja, Lagos State. The study has two objectives, questions, and hypotheses respectively. The population of the study as at December 31, 2021, was 14,640. Using the Cronbach Alpa statistic and Taro Yamani's 1967 test for analysis, the sample size was determined to be 390 along with the demographic characteristics. The collected data was analysed using frequency and straight-forward percentages for each despondence. Also, the correlation coefficient was used to analyse the strength of the influence between employee diversity and inclusion on organisational performance and the Chi square contingency was employed to test for dependence between the variables. The results shows that gender and ethnicity have little impact on an organisation's success. Nevertheless, there is a strong correlation between the gender, ethnic diversity, and organisational productivity of workers according to the direction of analysis. Gender has a positive influence on the variables while cultural diversity has a negative one. The research concluded that at UBA Banks in Ikeja, Lagos State, employee inclusion and cultural diversity had a positive impact on organisational efficiency. Hence, the research recommended that: (i) UBA Organisational Productivity would suffer as a result of the diversity and inclusion difficulties. (ii) It recommends that employee participation in diversity and inclusion improves organisational productivity.
