AJBAM seeks to provide access not only to world class research materials, but through our professionals, hope to bring about a significant transformation in the publication of print and online open access journal. AJBAM is committed to ensuring a paradigm shift in academic research which will result in major breakthroughs in the area of scholarly business and management research in Nigeria and the entire world. 

 

Editorial Ethics

AJBAM publishes peer-reviewed articles in business and management discipline and adheres to high standards of publication ethics to ensure the integrity and credibility of the research it publishes. Authors, reviewers, editors, and the editorial team are expected to comply with the following ethical guidelines:

 

Authorship and Originality

Authors should ensure that their submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere. All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors, and those who have not should be acknowledged appropriately. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript. Our acceptable similarity index is 15%, authors should ensure that their articles meet this criterion.

 

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.

Reviewers and editors should also declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

 

Archiving Policy

The Abuja Journal of Business and Management (AJBAM) utilizes the Public Knowledge Project's Open Journal Systems (PKP/OJS) for its digital publishing and archiving. Our archiving policy is designed to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content.

  1. AJBAM is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research. To this end, we participate in LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS), which provide decentralized and distributed archiving to ensure content is preserved in multiple locations globally. This ensures that our published content remains accessible even in the event of server failure or other unforeseen circumstances.
  2. Authors are encouraged to deposit their published articles in institutional or subject-specific repositories immediately after publication. This is in line with our open-access policy and supports the wider dissemination and accessibility of research findings.
  3. AJBAM also collaborates with the University of Abuja, Library, National Library of Nigeria and other trusted repositories to ensure the long-term preservation of its content.
  4. All articles published in AJBAM are assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

 

Copyright and License Statement

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International  (CC-BY-SA) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.

 

License to Publish

  1. All material published by the Abuja Journal of Business and Management is protected under International copyright and intellectual property laws. Abuja Journal of Business and Management is licensed under a Creative Commons 4.0 International License (CC-BY-SA) or an equivalent license as the optimal license for the publication, distribution, use, and reuse of scholarly works.
  2. This license permits anyone to compose, repair, and make derivative creations even for commercial purposes, as long as appropriate credit and proper acknowledgment of the original publication from a journal are made to allow users to trace back to the original manuscript and author.
  3. Authors must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use. If you remix, transform or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
