Abstract

The study focused on Human Resource Management (HRM) strategy and employee performance in University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, (UATH) Gwagwalada, Abuja. The study used a quantitative research method where closed-ended questionnaire was used for data collection from staff of UATH, in Abuja. The population of the study was 1602 respondents and the sample size were 320 respondents using Taro Yamane sample size determination formula. Multiple regression technique was used to test the hypotheses. Finding revealed that succession planning; talent management and workforce planning had significant positive effect on employee performance in UATH Gwagwalada, Abuja. The study concluded that the adoption and implementation of HRM strategy has significant positive effect on the employee performance of UATH in Abuja. The study recommended that the top management of UATH, Abuja, should implement a robust succession planning, talent management and workforce planning process that identifies and develops high-potential employees within the organization.
